Learning to SEW!!

I love the fabric for curtains for my granddaughters room!I just learned to sew on the pillow(photo below) and am ready to start the curtains! First I measured and bought the fabric & thread. Then I measured the length of the curtain and allowed for a hem and cut . Next I ironed and pinned the fabric and pinned the lining to it.(I bought 2 cheap white cloth shower curtains for the lining). Then I started sewing and measured ,ironed and pinned before I hemmed. Look at the stage 1 of the finished product! I will be making a valance to hang above it!! JOY on a Dime! If I can do it you can too!!

Mary, an experienced seamtress and friend, came over and taught me how to thread the machine,wind the bobbin, and other basic sewing machine operations.
